Review by Christopher Smith

it was a sold out night in toronto for anyone trying to see bob dylan and band.but for those who were on the inside it was their lucky night. bob delivered the songs with an enthusiastic rough-grace to them and exuded sheer class throughout the evening. the band was in top form as they ripped though a perfect setlist.playing old songs with newer arrangements intrigued the crowd.4th street had a nice punch to it while it's alright ma was a wild ride. the crowd loved them.masters of war was played new-style as well and the audience took a real liking to that one for sure.when bob and the band pulled out the new numbers the crowd really got into them...sometimes more than the classics.rollin and tumblin' did exactly that but with full steam ahead. previous to that was when the deal goes down, and it sure did it for the crowd for they responded with solid applause.for my 34th dylan show i got what i wanted.....perfect musical craftsmanship, great setlist, fun with friends and an evening with the world's greatest.

Review by Jerry Jerry Tenenbaum

The band is gritty and tight as they were Friday at the Ricoh Centre. Highlights were a moderate reworking of "It Ain't Me, Babe" (for me anyway) and a superlative "Tom Thumb's Blues" (how I love that song). "Honest With Me", "Lonesome Day Blues" , and "Cold Irons Bound" proved again that my appreciation of Dylan and his blues approach is not misplaced. He is a master of this form and thrived on it tonight. "Lay Lady Lay" was most appealing and certainly was a crowd pleaser for those around me. The extended rocking "Summer Days" was great with the musicians really showing their stuff as a tight and effective rock and roll band

Review by Jerry Bill White

Well, when he got to blowin that harp at the end of DR you could rightly say that maybe the MITLBC studio solo was merely a rehearsal for this night. That harp solo absolutely eclipsed the Long Black Coat stuff. Impossibly sublime. Best harp I’ve ever heard from Bob. Truly and utterly remarkable.

Review by Jerry Tenenbaum

There was a 'mystery' guitarist behind Dylan on at least two of the songs. (Who was that masked man?). The novices were concerned about the gruffness of his voice (the seasoned veteran's have come to expect this) and some would have liked the guitar to have appeared with Mr. Dylan front and centre where they felt he belonged.
