Review by Brian Bocian At about 8:30 “Bob Dylan & His Band” took the stage. The introduction brought a few laughs to the crowd. The first tune was tight, but once “Masterpiece” was underway it was clear that someone was grossly out-of-tune on stage. Unfortunately it was Bob. You would think…you would think, his guitar tech. (if he still has one) would have noticed the discord coming from the stage. But Bob seemed to be on his own in this department. He tried to tune his Fender in between a few of the numbers, but his efforts were fruitless. If I can offer constructive criticism, I’d suggest Bob invest in a $90 guitar tuner. Surely he can afford one. Mind you, I love Bob Dylan more than any other performer in the world, but the guitar portion was a let down despite his efforts to change the set-list a bit for us Toledoans. (Boblinks) |

Review by Charles Cicirella The whole set was luminous it really was almost as if Van Gogh had somehow translated his passion play paintings into song and vision pouring this incendiary root music all over us and totally teasing us to go ahead and strike another match. We were all in flames last evening as a barn fire of epic proportions tore down the house last night in a little town that can now only be called HOLY TOLEDO!!! Sacred purring sonic lullabies from the heart of the beast! (Boblinks) |

Review by Billy Shaw "Till I Fell..." came across more like "Can't Wait" than "Million Miles" and reinforced my theory about set-list play time. With Bic's flicking in the crowd ala Before the Flood album cover, Bob ended "It Ain't Me Babe" in the half-time shuffle he used to use pretty frequently. Bucky's organ, or I mean, pedal- steel, improved "Lovesick" from the last time I had heard it back in the windy city of Chicago and the many heads of reality. There goes my theory about set-list play time and the quality of the TOOM tunes. By 10:25 Bob was done with "RDW#12&35" and on his bus heading out of the parking lot with a towel wrapped around his head like he might have appeared after his fabled shadow-boxing days with Cassius Clay.
