Review by Brian Boyd
Thunder On The Mountain: This is the new "Summer Days'. Forget the notion that we don't need a new one. This song rollicked and Bob sounded unbelievably great. At one point, he sang and played the keyboards with his right hand and held the left up like a rodeo cowboy in the chute just before all hell breaks loose. The boys picked this as hands down worth the price of admission. Kyle pointed out that the bassline was more prominent than on the CD and drove the band and Bob harder. Good point, little dude!

PTuesday night's "John Brown" left the crowd pretty silent at times during the rendition...the widow or mother (I forget) who open's the casket of her fallen lover or son against the wishes of the military and can't recognize his face since it is blown off...chilling in these times of war and too many casualties. I don't know if this was a new verse to this tune but it was reviting and maybe I was hearing things since am not an expert in the Dylan lyrical catalogue but this version sounded different to me from the live Unplugged CD.

Review by Nat
Some great, some not. I sort of like his current band, but those guys, and especially the guitar players (hello, Denny) are not doing ANYTHING that is inventive. They are going through the motions, giving solos that are, at times, embarrassing. Over and over again Denny's solo work reminded me of Bob's own off kilter noodling. While I would be happy to have Bob play guitar again, I do not miss his lead work. Now, there is absolutely nothing inventive, exceptional or interesting in terms of fretwork. That is too bad, because Bob remains a vital and interesting interpreter of his own work, it just seems that this band is not willing or able to offer their own inventive interpretation of the well worn, or even new, material. That said, I am going again tonight, and looking forward to it!

Review by James Strohecker
This band is worth checking out again, if you've stepped away for a year or two. I think you'll be impressed. And the Modern Times tunes have added a new dimension - as well as current band member ownership - to their performance

Review by Chris Lull
The real shocker came at the end, when Tommy changed Bob's keyboard, and Bob casually went over and picked up an electric guitar and strolled to center stage. Needless to say, the crowd went fucking bananas. I haven't heard a roar like that since I can't remember when. Words cannot describe how it felt to have Bob right there, playing guitar again. He looked somewhat bored, but he started getting into it, and his playing sounded pretty good. Larry and Stu looked psyched, and all of a sudden it was like "old" times again. I guess he wanted to concentrate on playing rather than singing; there were no vocals. When this was over I got the feeling he will be doing this every night in this slot. Yup. And I'm the guy who laughed before the show when someone said he may play guitar tonight. Never say never.

Playing electric keyboard at the side of the stage, in the intimacy of the small hall, Dylan never looked more accessible or more vulnerable.
