Thank you all; all good - or splendiferous! Special thanks for: Ballad of Hollis Brown, Lenny Bruce (not quite sure about this version, though), I don't believe you (she acts like we never have met), Make you feel my love, She belongs to me; one of the best renderings of Honest with Me; Ain't talking (the audience stood in awe); Like a rolling stone, which was the best i have been blessed to hear, and a fantastic Watchtower. Tambourine Man seemed to linger in the air - but there is always another show... The sound was loud (outdoors) but great; you could hear the different soloists doing their part: violin portions, slide and steel guitar, the two guitarrists, as well as an outstanding performance by Mr. Garnier especially the solo - wow - thank you;

The songs were all presented in a solid format and we were all treated to the debut of "Spirit On the Water". It's a song that I haven't paid a lot of attention to on the new album, but they did a really nice rendition and it came across much better live. When he got to the last verse... "You think I'm over the hill You think I'm past my prime Let me see what you got We can have a whoppin' good time" ...the crowd gave a loud cheer.

All in all, a great show. The biggest treat was the extensive harp playing. The second biggest treat was a great Highway 61 Revisited. The biggest letdown was that it ended. The second biggest letdown was either that I felt too old to buy a Tshirt or it was the guy sitting next to me with B.O.

They played everything great! "Cold Irons Bound" was one of the biggest highlights for me. Bob has once again changed the accents within the song to great effect...and when he finishes the chorus "...I'm 20 miles out of town, and cold irons bound.." the guitars started raving! You could see the sweat dripping off his face onto the keyboard during this song and it was sheer heaven.

Not Fade Away and Baby Blue back to back made us think of our long-lost Grateful Dead days; so great to see Bob do all his songs we loved to see Garcia play. Honest With Me was hands-down the best I've seen or heard. Bob was so into it; with constant head movements, pointing, smiling, grinning, cringing, all the range of facial expressions. Not to mention the powerful playing. I doubt this will cross over to the CD, but it was very intense to be there. Then Love Sick out of nowhere. This was awesome, w/ Bob singing with conviction about how fun it can be to be in love. Raging. High Water and Mutineer were strong, and then we got the second Bye and Bye ever. I liked the way he changed the line to "I'm sitting on my watch 'Cause I want to be on time." All of the lyrics came through loud and clear, and this song will only get better as time goes by. Summer Days wrapped it up again in fast, frenzied style, and Blowin' In The Wind was a nice surprise in this spot. Watchtower blew us out the door and on the road to Las Vegas, after a top-notch show here in San Diego, one that will stand out in my mind above many others.
