Review by Christian Matschke Some songs would benefit from tighter arrangements. Cold Irons Bound for example meanders a bit too much without making a point. Some moments on the other hand may benefit from a riskier approach, freeing the band and the soloist from the limits of the song structure, and letting the song go in unexpected directions. Review
by Stefan Flach Catīs in the Well again was the first encore and sung in a rather sloppy way by Dylan. He got the lyrics wrong on almost every bridge (the catīs in the well and [mumbles], the catīs in the well and [mumbles, then, very pronounced] Back Alley Sally is doing the american jump!), but seemingly enjoyed playing the song. He had eye contact with Receli again often and they laughed nicely when Dylan repeatedly made a waving movement with his hand in order to show George which beat he should emphazise. A highly enjoyable version again. (Bob Links) |

Review by Vitek Zelinka This was a very good show, among the best from the 9 shows I have seen over the years so far. It was probably a lot stronger in many aspects than Hannover on the next day. The selection of the songs was very good, Dylan was on and concentrated all time, right from the hopeful opener of Wait for the Light to Shine, through the powerful and contemplative built-up instrumental finale of Times, good rendition of Desolation Row and tender One Too Many Mornings. The best was still to come: Solid Rock, much to my surprise, turned to be one of the most powerful songs of the evening, both musically, as the rendition was very dramatic, and with its message of people expecting false peace to come. Review by Gunter The show lasted approx. 1h 10 min. Very inspired performance by Dylan though the band still needs some shows to rehearse and find together again. Seems they had too many days off in a row before hopping to Europe ;-) (Bob Links) |
