Review by Jesse Jones

Cry Awhile had the same arrangement I had heard on April 30, but it's a lot of fun with its little break. I don't find I'll Remember You to be an exciting song, but Dylan found a lot of excitement in it. Things Have Changed rocked, and from there the set soared. Forever Young was exquisite, and ended with Dylan again at center stage on harmonica. Cat's In the Well picked up the tempo wonderfully, and then Tom Thumb's Blues soared -- I had hoped to hear it in NYC, but the line got a roar even in this far south suburb of the City. It Ain't Me Babe had great power, and then H61 kicked out the jams. Everyone gets a turn at a solo, including Dylan on the keyboard, and he and Stu have a great time. What a closer!

Show notes by Olof Björner

The first concert of the 1995 Fall Classics Tour features the 9th Never-Ending Tour Band: Bob Dylan (vocal & guitar), Bucky Baxter (pedal steel guitar & electric slide guitar), John Jackson (guitar), Tony Garnier (bass), Winston Watson (drums)
The show was billed as a private rehearsal party. Free tickets were given away by a local radio station on September 22nd. The show began at 9:25 PM and ended at 10:55 PM. The crowd size was estimated at close to 400, about ½ the venue capacity.
BobTalk: "I’m trying to bullshit him to go!" (after having tried to count Winston Watson in before West L.A. Fadeaway)

Review by Christine Consolvo

On the acoustic Tangled there appeared to be a definite Garcia influence in his guitar playing. Sounded great! And the vocals...she froze up insiiiiiide! He also really ripped it up in an extended ending to Key to the Highway. The two last songs he played, With God On Our Side & Highway 61, sounded like quintessential versions to these ears. Unbelievable.
